Ghislaine Maxwell recently met with the U.S. Department of Justice at the direction of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Here’s what is known:

  • In late July 2025, Maxwell participated in a two‑day, in‑person interview in Tallahassee, answering questions from Blanche for about nine hours under a limited form of immunity known as proffer or “no‑use” immunity  .
  • Her attorney, David Oscar Markus, stated Maxwell answered “every single question … honestly, truthfully, to the best of her ability,” and did not invoke her Fifth Amendment rights  .

The meeting was described as part of the DOJ’s efforts to gather information Maxwell may have on other individuals connected to Jeffrey Epstein’s network. Reports suggest she was asked about roughly 100 different people.

Shortly after the meetings, Maxwell was transferred to a minimum‑security federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, a move that her attorney says followed the DOJ meeting, though public officials have not clearly explained the reason.

There are key differences between FCI Tallahassee and FPC Bryan in Texas, the two federal women’s prisons associated with Ghislaine Maxwell’s incarceration and requested transfer.
