Under Kim Jong-Un, the North Korean regime does not permit independent Christian faith with its citizens AT ALL.

Christianity is treated not as a religious choice to be tolerated, but as a potential political threat  because it suggests allegiance outside the state, it has foreign/Western connections and it competes (in the regime’s view) with the personality cult and ideological dominance of the Kim leadership.

This is not surprising that it is very Trumpian behavior.

Possession of religious materials, like Bibles or contact with foreign Christian missionaries is treated as especially serious.

If someone is discovered engaging in Christian activity, the regime may punish not only that individual, but also their family members extending across three generations.

Under the “Reactionary Ideology and Culture Rejection Act” (December 2020), distributing or possessing religious texts or “foreign culture” was criminalized.

For Christians or suspected Christians in North Korea, the risks are high including:

– Life imprisonment

– Forced labor

– Execution

– Multi‐generation punishment

– Loss of opportunity

– Social ostracism

Does Trump care about Christians in North Korea?  He loves the love letters Kim Jong-Un sends to him to flatter his delicate ego.
